Anyone have any thoughts about some of the more obscure cell phone companies? I'm talking about Amped, Boost, and the other ones. I'm thinking about switching companies and I'm not sure if any of these are worth looking at. I have Verizon now, and I'm probably going to look at Cingular, T-Mobile and the like, and I don't want to waste my time researching these others if I don't have to. Any OOTiots subscribe to any of these services?

Hm, I wouldn't recommend switching to an obscure provider myself. I would recommend either T-Mobile, ALLTEL or Verizon as their customer service is the best. It all depends on the area you live in and who you can receive better coverage from. Also, bigger companies have better phones.

PD,
Boost is owned by Sprint. Amp'd just recently raised $150 million from a bunch of major investors/corporations and leases bandwidth from a major carrier (I think Cingular, don't remember). So, these are largely the same as going with one of the big names. |

So these companies (Boost, Amped, etc) are just a ruse put on by the major companies in order to attract a "hipper" audience? Weak. Also, I'm positive they used the word "hipper" in their marketing meetings.
