man you guys are smart but never played liars poker??

take out a bill. any denomination. look at the serial #s. they are basically 8 digits and 2 letters. of those 8 digits, it is somehow distributed that you get a # 0-9 on any one of the 8 digits. from those 8 digits, you start w/ a small poker hand. like A high (if you have a 1...0s count as Tens and there are no J-Ks).

you call "i have Ahigh."

then your opponent says " i have XYZ.

for example:

if your # reads: K52704738D (an actual bill i just pulled out)

and your opponent's # reads: DG42046069A (another bill...apparantly $5 bills have3 letters and the $1 bill above has 2 letters)

you would go first and call "ten high" (the lowest meaningful hand you can make)

your opponent would then call "1 pair of 2s" ... now notice that your oponent DOES NOT HAVE a pair of 2s...but you dont know that b/c it's a legitimate hand for him to have and it's low so you keep going.

you'd call a pair of 7s (now notice that is the best possible hand you can make)

your oponent then calls two pair "twos and 4s" knowing that he can go HIGHER than that and he knows you "know" he has a pair of two's so it's perfectly reasonable that he could have another pair of 4's.

now you have to bluff!!!! you have to call a hand you DO NOT have that is BETTER than your opponent's hand.

lets say you call " i have 3 7s" (b/c you called a pair of 7s so it's reasonable that you'd have 3 of them)

now your opponent says "bullSH*T" you have 3 7s...i saw your lip twinge. you're bluffing, show me the bill.

you would be forced to show the bill and he would win whatever denomination you agreed upon.

however, if he was WRONG, he would LOSE TO YOU that same denomination.

and that is liars poker.

He was being a jackass on a day where I don't feel like dealing with such things and has consequently been exiled from OOT.
