I will continue to make new rules as long as posters continue to find new ways to be dumb-asses

Every WSOP we get flooded by a ton of very young morons who feel the same thing, and the forum becomes almost unreadable. Definitely unenjoyable. That's why we get guys like [censored] to come along and toss out the gibbering morons that think "anything goes." And the forum is always the better for it, or for at least the threat of it.

Anything goes just means getting bombed by morons, which just drives away everybody else and turns the place into lowest common denominator "what color is my poop?," "I got a boner in social studies!," and "I'm masturbating while I'm typing!!!!" threads. If you really think that's something to look forward to or find that even remotely interesting, I'd recommend just finding it everywhere else all over the net. We don't need to turn this forum into just one more place that reeks of ass.

Perhaps I just am lacking the historical knowledge of OOT, since I only started reading/posting here in the past couple of months. Frankly, it had never occurred to me that this forum could degenerate much further in that direction.

Agreed.

And dumb-ass is subjective. I'll concede that the _vast_ majority of posts here fall into the dumb-ass category. Whether it's quasi-entertaining dumb-assery or not is in the eye of the beholder.

Oh heck yeah. It's been way way worse than this before. We've had board invasions of teenage(mentality) morons and hate-dorks.

There really is only one rule that [censored] is enforcing and that's don't suck. If you suck he's going to ban you or give you a *. Seems like a fairly simple rule. All the other 'rules' are just things that [censored] see as people sucking. I never understood all the crying going on over here, this site is free folks, it's provided by 2 + 2 for our benefit. If you don't like what's going on then stay way from 2 + 2. At least do us all a favor and stay away from OOT.

you are proposing, perhaps, a rule against rules?

I'm against protesting; I just don't know how to show it.
