For 3/6 and 5/10 full ring what are some general guidelines for how many big blinds to be calling w/ PP's trying to hit sets? I assume all PP's are a limp from any position at a normal table (if this is wrong, please let me know) but I have been calling small raises with them and it is starting to feel like a leak because the players seem to be pretty good and not pay me off as much as i'd like when i do hit sets.
example: 5/10 full ring, 10 players, utg+1 raises to 30, folded to me in CO i have 55 and I call trying to flop a set and stack him... discuss. |

calling a FULL raise OOP against SOLID player when it will be HEADS UP is bad. He wont pay you off.
That being said, in addition to obvious donks, some of the full ring 12/1 supernits are good to call against. Their raise is always AA or KK and you can stack them most times as they're bad postflop. Some of the better, laggier smallballers will never pay you. In your example, he raises 3bb, youre in position, maybe blinds come along, doesnt looks decent. |
