Default Another lying poll - Easter

Inspired by EM's poll.

My dry cleaner is a very sweet woman. We usually chat for a few minutes when exchanging laundry. I do not know her name. Last Friday she asked me what I was doing for Easter. I replied that I'm an atheist, knowing that she is a devout catholic. I then departed for vegas for a weekend of general debauchery. When I told my friends the story I was roundly criticized for telling the truth. They said I should have lied and said something about going to church.

What would you have done if you were in my shoes?

Boris:

Oh what a tangled web we weave when we plan to deceive.

The truth shall set you free.

(i've got more cliches, if you need em)

Tell the truth. Just instead of saying that you are an atheist, say that you don't celebrate Easter.

I run into the same thing all the time, I hate how 80% of the people in the US assume 100% of the people in the US are christian, or celebrate christian holidays.

Last night at the bar "hey, what did you do for easter?" I woke the hell up and watched TV, yay!

Boris,

You should have just told her what you were doing for Easter.

I'm not sure she could have handled that much truth.

Agreed. She didn't ask what your religion was. I'm sure plenty of non-Christians still use Easter as excuse to get together.
