Three of my most favourite recentish coutry/alt country albums.
Ryan Adams- Heartbreaker. Gillian Welch- Time the Revelator Todd Snider - East Nashville Skyline Also, who likes Drive By Truckers? I like this but may not be cool.

Anywho, some recommendations that I've recently enjoyed. May be what you're looking for, maybe not. Dierks Bentley - Settle for a Slowdown. Great video too Lonestar - I'm Already There Brooks and Dunn - I Believe Anything by Miranda Lambert Keith Urban Best place to go to find some popular country: southern karaoke bar. No kidding. You may also like Tim McGraw, Trace Adkins (doubtful, but possible), Brad Paisley.
