Default Cuckoo\'s Next > Chinatown?

I've searched a few "Top 100" movie lists and books and Chinatown is found in the first 10 on several of them. Recently I read that Chinatown is the 3rd greatest screenplay of all time, behind only Casablanca and The Godfather. So I could not wait to see this film, especially considering I like Jack Nicholson.

After watching it last night, I think it's a good movie. Roman Polanski did a fine job and Nicholson is good as always however I'm not so sure such high reverence (top 10 movie of all time) is warranted. In fact, I don't think this is the best movie Nicholson is in. One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and the Shining left more of an impact on me then Chinatown.

Anyone feel the same or am I missing the boat?

I've always thought Cuckoos Nest was underrated in the film community, and I have no idea why.

While I enjoy it, I've always thought Chinatow to be a tad overrated.

If you like Cukoo's Nest, you should read the book because it is somewhat different but also very good.

Really? Didn't it win Oscars for Best Picture, Director, Screenplay, Actor and Actress? That seems like they rate it pretty well.
