Default when flying how early do you arrive at the airport?

I always thought 3 hours was standard (for international). Apparently others don't feel the same.

3-4 hrs is standard (these days). I'm often 1-2 hrs, and often late.

I've never flown international and haven't flown domestic since 9/11 (nothing against flying, just haven't done it).

I used to arrive 45 mins- 1 hour early

Are the security checks that god-awful now or am I a procrastinator?

Are you guys serious? Maybe San Diego just runs smoother, but generally its 45min domestic and an hour international.

I thought the 9/11 effect had worn off by now because usually 45 min is more than enough.

I allow ~1hr for UK domestic [check-in, security and gate-finding soaks up some time, and boarding starts 35mins before takeoff, so bang goes the hour].

International i allow 2-3 hours simply because I couldn't afford to miss the one i'm booked in on.

10-15 mins before flight departure. there are no lines b/c everyone arrived 1-3hours ahead. you will also be rushed through. however when utilizing this method realize there is an increased statistical risk of missing one's flight. also it doesn't work during holidays. that requires you to buy my book "last minute flight departures for advanced poker players". it's too technical to relate in an online interweb forum.
