Default How close are the Pokerstars accomodations to the Rio?

I just qualled for the WSOP Main Event through pokerstars. If I wear their gear I can either take 1K or get a free hotel room for the duration of the tournament. They have rooms at the Monte Carlo, Treasure Island, and Luxor. How close is each of these to the Rio?

How long of a drive would it be? Half-hour? 20 minutes? This is actually somewhat important as it decides whether I take up Stars on their offer

Congrats on the win.

No. It's not that far.

You can look on a map (photoc's maps stickied at the top of this forum are helpful).

I stayed at TI via Stars last year and it's about a 5-minute drive.
Easy cab-ride for less than $10. But I would consider renting a car if I did this again as the cab-rides do tend to add up.

Monte Carlo and Luxor would be a little bit farther but not by that much. About 10 minute drive...or $15 cab-ride approximately.

The Stars offer is a good one. Especially if you definitely plan on staying the whole 9 nights even if you get knocked out.
TI is a nice hotel.

TI also reasonable walking-distance from the other poker-rooms that you might be interested in playing at while you're there. These would include Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian and Mirage.
It's about 20 minutes I think (perhaps longer) to walk to Bellagio from TI. About 10-15 minutes walk to Venetian or Wynn. There's a shuttle thing that runs between TI and Mirage.

Luxor and Monte Carlo are on the other side of the strip. They are reasonably close to the MGM room.
But all the other top poker-rooms (imo) are closer to the TI.

If I were to win my seat via Stars again and I had these 3 to choose from I would probably choose to stay at TI again.
Only reason I might stay at one of the other two is if my GF came with me in which case I think she/we might have more fun at one of those 'theme' places like Luxor or MC.

Most of the time the trip from any of those hotels to The Rio will be quick. Try to do it the wrong couple hours a day and you'll spend a lot of time waiting at lights and what was a 15 minute journey may take you 40 minutes.

Sorry this is sort of a hijack, but suppose you weren't going to stay the nine nights (unless you were still in the tournament of course). Is it hard to find reasonably priced rooms during the main event?

Depends on what you consider "reasonable". If you mean low, near impossible.
