Live 9/18...
Live 9/18 at commerce - some people are walking so we are six handed...
someone just got up so we have two big blinds, Hero is in the small blind spot with a full blind posted with QJo no spade... Preflop: folded to button who is not good, but not super loose who opens...Hero calls, BB who is super loose/relatively passive calls also... Flop: 8s Tc 4s (3 players, 6sb) Hero checks, BB checks, Button bets, Hero raises, BB folds, Button calls... Turn: Ad (2 players, 7bb) Hero bets, Button calls... River: 5c (2 players, 9bb) Hero ???? what do you think so far, and whats my river play? |

Re: Live 9/18...
bet-fold? Although with the pot this big they are calling K-hi and pairs anyways. Maybe c/f is best.

Re: Live 9/18...
There's little to no chance of you winning if you check right? Seems to me like there's not much choice.

Re: Live 9/18...
Button = loose + not good = can't fold to a flop c/r and will probably call turn. You don't know anything about his hand except that he raised pf (maybe ace broadway so your outs for Q and J aren't clear). I check/call the flop and check/fold turn.
He is going to call that river bet with everything that beats you. Just check/fold river. |

Re: Live 9/18...
i should also note that i think villain will call a river bet with any pair, but fold any non-pair...also, i don't really know villains steal requirements or if he will adjust them based on the fact that there is no chance of him stealing when there are two big blinds posted...

Re: Live 9/18...
Maybe the 9/18 game has changed since I last played it, but is bluffing really a good idea there? I find your flop check raise very questionable.

Re: Live 9/18...
I would probably bet the turn during play, but I think it might be a check/call. Look at the top 30% of hands or whatever you think his opening range is on the button with 2 big blinds, and the only thing I can see folding is like Kxs/Qxs where x<8 and not spades, and K9o. Everything else is paired or has a draw that isn't folding. And we'll often have to pay 2 bets to see the river.
On the river you're hoping to fold KQ/KJ, maybe protect against being bluffed by J9s sometimes. Figure out whether this is 10% of his range (discount J9s to how often you think he'd bluff it). |
