Default PS 50NL, Protect Hand, or Pot Control?

This type of hand comes up from time to time, where i don't know if i should be looking for a cheap showdown, or trying to protect my hand against a lone heart.

I just sat down, but in the first 15 hands i've already seen the villain call bets with a bad hand. (ie, AJ of hearts on a KT8 board, only one heart on board).

How's my line? Would it change if the villain was deeper?

I think preflop is fine. I'd bet the pot on the flop. The turn I think is where you messed up - why bet $12 when if called villain only has like 9 dollars left? A PSB on the turn will put villain all-in - make him pay for drawing to that 4-flush (I think villain's most likely hand given your reads and the action). Then again, I'm a SSNL newbie, so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I suck so bad, but here are thoughts.

On the turn I think I would consider checking to some people, but against a villian that bad I think you are betting for value.

On the river though, if he is passive, I think just checking to him is the best move because if he bets a decent size you will know you are prob beat and he may even check a lot of hands and give you a free showdown. I could be missing a key value bet here, but betting that small just seems too fishy and is not a good move.

Edit: I'm a moron for not paying attention to stack sizes and I put him all in on the turn like guy above me said.

Yeah, i guess i agree i should have just put him all in on the turn. At the time i put him on either a weaker A or possibly two broadways with one heart. Or some sort of set or miracle flopped flush that has me beat.

He's probably calling a push with most of that, but i was thinking a smaller turn bet could get the weaker A to call. I was probably just getting greedy though...
