I have been playing the WSOP freerolls on UB and FTP and came accross a unique situation that i never saw before in a MTT. After winning entry to the second step, i had to go back at a pre-scheduled time to play that tournament. Out of 1800 people approximately half of them were sitting out / forgot they won entry. In this type of tournament, the top 200 people win entry into the next step, and i wasn't sure how this should affect my play. knowing that half the people are going to be slowly blinded out, should i play tighter in order to make sure i atleast outlast those morons, or should i be playing looser knowing i will HAVE to pickup some pots in order to outlast them. On my specific table, 5 players were sitting out, so we were playing essentially a 6max MTT which threw me off. any suggestions of what kind of strategy i should follow when i encounter this again?
On another note, how do they regulate that a table doesnt have 8 people sitting out, and the last two are just passing the blinds quickly between them and taking all their chips? Is that considered collusion? Thanks all! |

this happened in the MTT I was playing in last night... well, not exactly like this, but something similar.
Three players (all three of them seated immediately to my left) all lost connection somehow, or decided to sitout, for a long time. Two of them had considerably more chips than I did. To be honest, it didn't really affect my game that much... I stole a lot of blinds from them, which was nice, but the rest of the table played just like it was a 6max table. Eventually the two big-stacks came back on, so I'm assuming they were just sitting out, and the other short-stacked absent player blinded out right as the final table was beign formed. |

I was in same situation in there freeroll myself and other player shared all the blinds for good half hour of tourn good start. For you question in these freerolls it is FREE so I play very loose and am in a lot of pots early.
