Re: PS-60 KK, am I too weak tight?
Why no bet on flop? Why such a weak bet on turn? You are asking to be put in a bad situation. I think a check on the flop is either too weak or too fancy, neither being ways to make money in STTs. The raise PF isnt bad, Id then bet half pot on flop, and then reevaluate from there, concerning the ten.

Re: PS-60 KK, am I too weak tight?
I don't understand why everyone hates the flop check. There is nothing wrong checking the flop. Sure you are giving a 2 or 3 outer a chance to beat you, but you also set up your opponent to bluff at many turn card. Raise the turn.
Now if you have JJ or QQ then I don't like checking the flop since now there are a lot more scare cards that could hit the turn. Ken |

Re: PS-60 KK, am I too weak tight?
I hate checking the flop and then folding to a bet or raise on the turn.
You have shown weakness, even tho you have a very strong hand. Everyone sees this, so the play of hte hand doenst mean raiser has a Ten, it means raiser thinks OOP doesnt have a Ten, and might just have AK, AQ, etc, and raiser thinks he can drive OP off of his hand, or that villian has a 5 or a 3 even. OPs bet on the turn looks like a scared bet dabbling his toe in the water to see if it gets bitten off. Bottom line, if you check the flop with the intention of giving up on this pot, that is a mistake (in my opinion). If you check the flop to lure AQ, 88 or other cards into playing along, and extracting money when they semi-bluff at your 'weakness' then checking hte flop is a good play. |

Either way, I think I should check-call all the way to allow someone to bet out a worse hand. This was my intention after the flop. I changed my mind and decided to bet for value on the turn. Ooops. Bad idea. But I'm not completely convinced the fold was wrong. |

Re: PS-60 KK, am I too weak tight?
The safe way to play this flop is to make a 1/2 to 2/3 pot sized bet. Or check not because I'm scared someone has a T but because I want to induce a bet on the turn being there is no draws on the board. With no reads and the blinds going up so fast if I'm not best I'm losing a lot of my chips here. With the range of hands that villain calls preflop I can't put him on a T a big enough percentage of the time to fold.
Most of the time I bet after the flop especially when I'm first to act. If I get called on the flop I play the hand fairly cautiously. As played I would have made a half to 2/3 pot sized bet on the turn. |

Re: PS-60 KK, am I too weak tight?
Sure if you check the flop, you better call/raise the turn bet.
