He wasn't reading her tells, he was just pretending to so he could convince his buddy to go all in and bust out. Not that it worked (for those who might care, he did go all in, but actually had a hand).

House is one of two shows that I watch every week so I'm not a hater, but I think it just jumped the shark.

It is the same god damn plot every [censored] week. I think the character development and some of the acting choices were pretty good, but god damnit they need new writers.

1) House jumped the shark because they had poker in it? WTF?

2) The character development is def good, but House was too much sarcastic smart-ass and not enough troubled doctor in the first episodes of the 2nd season.

3) Someone needs to die finally. I'm sick of everybody always being saved now. Terry Bauer's death, and the husband having to choose between his baby and his wife were 2 of the best episodes.

It wasn't so much the poker, but that it was just a really shollow episode. I did like the part where the british doctor was tying to pick up some floozie and House walks up to him asking about his anal fissure and what happened to the girl he was banging in the parking lot earlier.

#3 - can't argue with. Spot on really. Both of those were great.

#2 - That's probably true, i haven't really watched enough of the second season to say. I gave up on the show overall towards the end of the first season. I really liked several of the first season episodes I saw but the show doesn't seem to be going anywhere. They have a really hard time keeping it fresh....

Actually, i don't think they are trying to keep it fresh at all. Overall they have a formula the writers are sticking with and they basically throw in the same usual major plot points every episode. I guess i'm basically doing the same thing as i'm not really adding much to my prior post. I'm just pretty annoyed with the show since i think it could be a lot better than it is.

It wasn't poker per se, but the way it used it was really cheezie/stupid. The piano music was gave it a hokey feel.
