Default 4/8 JJ BT

Live 4/8

This is the 6th time I've got JJ today, and so far I've had 5 losers.

3 limpers, Hero raises, fold, BB calls, limpers call

Flop (5) 10SB T 8 3 r

checked to me, I bet, BB raises, 3 call, I call
[I did just see BB c/r in EP then check turn, but I'm not 3-betting this against this many fishies]

Turn (5) 10BB 6d (2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img])
checked to CO who fumbles and bets, I raise, BB folds, call, fold, call

River (3) 16BB Td
I check it down.

I would strongly suggest raising the flop, since fishies often decide to drop off on the turn when they dont hit, but will keep calling 'em on the flop.

I like the turn raise.

I think a bet-fold is probably in order on the river.

From the way the hand was played, it seems like it'd be too easy for CO to have a busted low two-pair, and the other guy is likely to call with mid pair as well.

Looks like a textbook turn raise for a free showdown and to knock out the field to me.

Hard to figure how a 2 helped him on a rainbow non-drawy board. But most B&M'ers and pretty passive with big street bets so I'd just check down the river as well.

I'd be tempted to play the flop the same way, but I think you need to 3-bet there. This guy seems to like check-raising just for fun, so charge him for it. Waiting for a safe turn to raise doesn't make much sense since you aren't likely to get a chance to face anyone with calling 2 cold.

Bet the river - you'll be good here a lot, and these guys are paying you off with all sorts of crap.

If I raise this turn, there's no way I'm taking a free showdown on a blank river.

unlike most hands you post, I think you played this one well.

...Is this a reference to me? One must remember we all play 1000s of hands, even live. They can't all be perfect. It is only the obvious mistakes and more difficult situations that get posted.

...In rebuttal, Just because One makes a play that appears poor doesn't mean it is poor. One may be a read orientated player, struggling to fully quantify those reads within text.
