In that case I think you do have to bet this turn. And definitely bet the river, the pro isn't going for a check/raise. If the fish check-raises (the river), I gag and call.

you really lost me there when you capped the flop. let utg stay in with his two outer and then blow him out on the turn. call the 3 bet on the flop and raise the turn.

as you played the flop checking the turn makes little sense. you have to bet the turn and call down from there if raised.

as you played the turn you need to bet the river. you have AA, dont forget to win a lot of chips with it.

was this at commerce?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, what he said. In fact, you may want to 3 bet the turn even if you are checkraised, depending on the opponents and what has been going on recently. Good post, mike.

I would defintily bet this turn... The river is an easy bet, fold if the pro-check raises (unless he is very tricky) and call if the fish check-raises.

[/ QUOTE ]

You cannot fold here to any of the pros a 2/4 game. High limit pros are generally high-limit pros because they are precisely "very tricky" but otherwise I agree with your rationale.

one more thing i just thought of about the flop. if you just smoothcall the raise it will look so weak, just like AK and now utg will cap it and the other guy will call and youll call.

that sets up a lovely turn 3 bet because it will go bet-raise-3 bet! cha ching!

mike,

It could, but it's also possible that a heart would freeze the action. Still, it's a reasonable line to try.

Sorry, they just seem so strangely played with these VERY specific reads that you don't act upon for some reason.

Anyway, bet the turn and call down if checkraised. As you played it, bet the river. I really can't imagine why you played this hand the way you did.
