You point a major part of the problem with bot enforcement. Sites could, if they wanted to painstakingly go over game records, refund money to affected players, but as yet I haven't heard of that happening. Instead, the bot busts mean more $$$ for the House. Players sensitive to the bot issue -- and I'm not sure I count myself as one, at least not yet -- should demand two things from a site's bot policy: 1.) aggressive enforcement and use of preventative technology measures, and 2.) thorough efforts to refund seized money to players who were negatively affected by bots. One without the other doesn't do much good.

[/ QUOTE ] So you're saying that the reason that pokerrooms don't carefully go through records looking for bots is that if they did and found one they would get a lot of money from the bust? And that we would better off if we took away the only incentive the sites have to spend their resources looking for cheaters? |

Furthmore, "painstakingly going over game records" for a low limit bot would be ridiculous and not worth it, but it would for a high-limit bot. Where would you draw the line? You can't really.

Party takes between $2 and $3 every hand I play for this they promise that the integrity of their site is paramount. In this area all Party can do is promise me since I'm of the opinion that on their own Party wouldn't recognize a bot, or multipule tournament players from the same computer, if it was dressed in a plaid clown suit, a tiny tophat, big floppy yellow shoes, with a lighted tie that says "BOT" unless someone from here sent three emails to support about him.
