Re: 2/4 - AA faces turn 3 bet
I am guessing that the button caught a queen and UTG+2 decided that it was a good time to start raising with his small set. Your sandwiched because you don't know how the button will react to the 3-bet.
I think I bite the bullets and fold. Maybe I am too tight? |

Re: 2/4 - AA faces turn 3 bet
I don't think I would fold here without a read. I do agree with Drunken's read of the hand, but without a read, UTG could be playing a pretty wide range. Not everyone respects your raises and will call the cap with anh hand they would call BB with. They may have both caught Qs on the turn or UTG might have a set. If capped, I would fold to 2 bets on river.

Fold it and pretend you never had aces.
UTG+2 check/calls then check/3-bets? You're drawing to 2 outs. |

Re: 2/4 - AA faces turn 3 bet
Folding this with no reads here is tough. I see people play pocket nines and tens this way all the time, even with the overcard on the turn. Absent reads, I'll probably reluctantly call down unless it gets capped and I'm led into on the river.
As a side note, though, pay attention to what gets showndown here, and watch how these players interact in pots with each other. Check/3-bets are rare and there's a small possibility you could be dealing with some collusive behavior. Or you could just be up against a maniac, or someone who slowplayed a set. It's just a good idea to keep your eyes open at the table. |

Re: 2/4 - AA faces turn 3 bet
Generally, a turn check/3-bet means they crush top pair.
It's possible you may be up against 2-pair and/or KK and/or AQ, which would give you odds to call peal and hope the board pairs, but I think UTG+2 has a set or 2-pair here a good percent of the time and you have dubious outs to continue. Unless you have a read both guys are LAG, fold this puppy and move on. Don't be the meat in their raise sandwich. |

Re: 2/4 - AA faces turn 3 bet
Well I did fold, sharing the opinion that the 3 bet meant he could beat top pair, but the raiser had KQ and the 3 better had QT. /boggle
Made me think that I'll never fold AA in a capped pot at 2/4, but seems like I probably made the correct play longterm. |
