I witnessed Crazy Guy run around on the White House Lawn

Sunday afternoon, my girlfriend and I went over to the park in front of the White House to walk around and kill time. We head over to Penn Ave in front of the White House, this end of the street is closed to car traffic and on the weekends it’s filled with tourists and some random political nuts. Well we are walking around for about 10 minutes and we are right in front of the White House along the black gated fence and all of sudden some nut case jumps the fence and starts running on the House lawn. He ran up right side, at that point about 30 feet away from me and some cops start chasing him. He managed to avoid one cop (that one cop actually completely bit it over a bush in the pursuit) before he was quickly surrounded by at least a dozen cops/Secret Service with drawn guns. Though I was hoping movie scene like showdown between this guy and the cops, but he peacefully gave up a few minutes later. From what I saw he did not have any weapons.

I was amazed by how many cops and secret service officers just seemed to pop out of no where when this all went down. Within minutes the cops had cleared out hundreds of tourists just on that one side of the White House we were at.

Story if interested, this was the third time this guy did this.
