6 max preflop
How do you guys determine preflop raise size in a 6-max game?
Thanks, Steve |

Re: 6 max preflop
I am interested in this as well.
I tried out 6-max for the first time last night, was playing Party 25NL 6-Max. I think once when I raised PF I got called. AA, AK (a bunch of times), KK, QQ, etc. all get folded around and I scooped the blinds. My raises were all for $1 (4xBB). Margon |

Re: 6 max preflop
If you raise a fair bit (ie pfr 15) ppl will start calling you

Re: 6 max preflop
Standard pre-flop raise is 3x or 4x the bb plus 1bb per limper. Table conditions may cause this to vary.

So no different than full ring? [/ QUOTE ] Nope. Of course, starting hand ranges and hands that should be raised are a different matter. If you search, you will see more than a few threads on that topic in the last couple of months. |

Re: 6 max preflop
When I sit down at a table, I start with 3x + 1BB per limper. But this will greatly vary by table - I've had tables where I've went to 5x because 3x would routinely get 3-4 callers.

This includes 22-77, suited connectors or anything I want to play. This will bring your PFR% to 15% or so & people will give you action. I have also noticed when you are agressive preflop, small stakes players usually translate this as overall agression. This will help you get paid off later. |

Re: 6 max preflop
4XBB + 1 per limper. I find 3x to be to small, since that makes your openining raise gives the bb very good odds to call. But I raise 16% pf so I guess I want the extra fe.

Re: 6 max preflop
The correct answer is the highest amount that will still get you the callers you want. The amount should be consistent and not related to hand strength.
