Speaker finish suggestions?
Well, I'm moving out soon (very soon hopefully), and so it's time to purchase the next component of my home theater system: new front speakers.
Here is my current subwoofer, which was built by the same cabinet maker who I am going to have build my front speakers: http://webpages.charter.net/fryguy And here is a pic of a finished version of the kit I'm getting: http://www.diycable.com/main/images/..._large/571.jpg I obviously don't want the finish in this picture though. The problem is I don't know what I want. I can get the same black stained oak veneeer finish as my subwoofer, but I'm not sure how it will look on large tower speakers. I can do pretty much anything I want for finish, except for painting or piano gloss black, as both of these finishing methods are way way more expensive and it's not something I'm willing to almost double the cost of my speakers on. I can get pretty much any veneer I want, or laminates. I'm looking for some suggestions. Keep in mind it has to match the subwoofer, and it'll probably be placed next to a silver tv, since all tvs are [censored] silver nowadays. I kind of like rosewood: http://www.tyleracoustics.com/Images...per_rm_lg1.jpg But I dunno. Anybody else got any suggestions? |
