WSOP Step 4: TPTK on 3 club board, what\'s my play?
Hi all,
In WSOP Step 4 early, no reads on Villian or other player. I was a little confused what to do here. Thoughts? Thanks in advance. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t40 (10 handed) converter UTG+2 (t2000) MP1 (t1960) MP2 (t2170) Hero (t2000) CO (t1980) Button (t1870) SB (t1960) BB (t2000) UTG (t2000) UTG+1 (t2060) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP1 calls t40, 1 fold, Hero raises to t150, 3 folds, BB calls t110, MP1 calls t110. Flop: (t470) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets t300, BB raises to t900, MP1 folds, Hero ??? |

Fold is fine.
Set is entirely likely so is 2 pair. I'd also might want to check behind to play a small pot with your hand. Acxx is liable to make this play and this decision is difficult. |

Re: WSOP Step 4: TPTK on 3 club board, what\'s my play?
At first, I thought that was the plain and simple answer, as well.
Note, however, that busting early in a step 4 is not good at all because of the structure of the steps. Therefore, I'm undecided and would like to hear some debate from other posters. Ryan |

He could I guess have AxAc...but esp. since Hero has AK on K high board...I think other than that and the small chance he made his flush Hero is ahead. Hero leading the flop looks like a C-bet/steal, and villan very well may try to C/R given that even TPTK like he has may lay it down, this makes a semi-bluff ideal for villan. I don't know what the strucutre of these STEPS are but c'mon...I'm pushing all day |

Re: WSOP Step 4: TPTK on 3 club board, what\'s my play?
Maybe I was a little off my game today, but I was honestly confused about this hand. The structure of the Steps does make me question what to do as well, as 10th pays $50, 9th takes you down to Step 2, 6-8th down to Step 3, 3-5 stay at Step 4, and 1 and 2 moving on to Step 5. It was also early and I didn't have good reads, but him being in the BB made me put him on a wider range of hands.
I'd like to hear other opinions though, I'm here to learn. Thanks. |

Def. fold.
You have no club, and villain is pot committed. Plus, BB can have absolutely anything. Wouldn't you rather find a better spot? |

Re: WSOP Step 4: TPTK on 3 club board, what\'s my play?
Ok, well I was too weak here and decided to fold. I could really only put him on AcKx or KxQc, and didn't want to risk just getting $50. Probably a weak fold that cost me a lot of chips, but oh well, live and learn.

This is a fold I think a lot of it doing with prize structure. Overplaying top pair here would be a big mistake.
