[ QUOTE ]
ahh... I just noticed the "Finance & Investing" forum over there. Mods, feel free to move this thread, although I wouldn't mind continuing to hear the wisdom of OOT, either.

After the discussion dies down here, you are welcome to ask DB to move it to Finance.

Bump.
Would someone who doesn't have a credit card(no credit rating I'm assuming then), 17 years old, be able to sign up and request a loan? If that is possible, he'd probably have to pay a ridiculously high interest rate? Or if not possible, have to get a credit card?

I just discovered the NC system. So would I have to do anything prior to signing up? Credit card, etc.
I have no credit history, obviously.

edit: also, should I just dish out my SSN, or ask my parents.

edit2: it says bank account on file, so I will have to link the account to my bank account, or will giving my SSN automatically do that?

You need to give your SSN and bank account information. It's secure enough from what I can tell. Give it a run!

Well el Cap was [censored], so I guess we don't get to find out his experience.

If anyone actually uses prosper as either a lender or borrower, I would be interested in hearing your experience.
