Re: I\'ve been offered to be staked in the WSOP. Good deal?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Being a "local celebrity" (don't ask), and decent poker player, a local casino has offered to stake me in the WSOP. For the record, I'm going to play in the WSOP this year whether I take this deal or not. They will pay my entry fee into a $2000 WSOP NL event, cover the airfare, about $400, and hotel for 5 nights, another $600. They'll throw in an additional $300 for food/taxis/etc. Total investment for them is about $3,300. In return I would give them half of what I win AFTER I take off $10,000 for a main event entry, provided I cash in the $2000 event. Example: If I cash for $40,000, I take off $10,000 and then split the $30,000 with them. Here's the kicker. IF I cash in the $2,000 event and enter the main event, they automatically get half of anything I cash. Again, they would pay airfare, $400, hotel, $1,200 this time as I might be there 10 days, and $500 for food/etc. A goot deal? [/ QUOTE ] put a cap on how much they can take from your ME winnings, assuming you cash... [/ QUOTE ] Thats what I meant |

I actually thought it was 9700+300, but I'm too lazy to check.

You are either taking this deal or what is in the mystery box. ...take the mystery box. [/ QUOTE ] Yeah the mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat. |

Re: I\'ve been offered to be staked in the WSOP. Good deal?
I'd prefer a 70/30 or 65/35 split in the ME. Also a proviso that if you cash in the $2,000 for less than 12,000 that the deal ends there, you each take half of your winnings and you buy yourself into the ME.

Re: I\'ve been offered to be staked in the WSOP. Good deal?
I'd take the deal BUT.... first I'd try to put a cap on what they can get in the ME. Offer them half not to exceed 750k or 1 mil.
I would think they would sit back and think about how small the chances would be that you get 1.5 - 2 mil and take it. Then if you end up winning the 7.5 - 10 mil you'll be thanking me. Thanking me in more ways than just saying thanks |

Is this a joke? They're offering you a lot of free money.

Re: I\'ve been offered to be staked in the WSOP. Good deal?
Do you guys think this is really that good of a deal? If hes planning on buying into the ME already, why would he do this?
I would make them them pay for both trips, provide spending money, and i agree with others put a cap on your winnings |
