And Steve Thinks He\'s a Calling Station
Beginning of the 2nd level of the Foxwoods WPT event. We started with 20k in chips. I have 12k thanks to running the second nuts into the nuts twice. The first hand with blinds at 50/100 I raise in MP to 250 with AQo. Only Vinny Napolitano in the BB calls. Flop is KT4 with two clubs and he check calls 400. Turn is the 8 of hearts and we check it through. River is a complete brick and he thinks and bets 750. I call.
Now THATS a calling station. edit: I forgot to put the hand in |

MLG,
If you are reasonably sure this guy wouldn't either c-raise or bet the turn with a king (like KQ, KJ) then cool call the river. I mean if you aren't calling the river you should be betting the turn against a lot of people (know what I mean?) |

Re: And Steve Thinks He\'s a Calling Station
Did he show QJ or the flush draw? If you were right then this call is more pimp than gator boots.

Re: And Steve Thinks He\'s a Calling Station
Apathy,
My thought at the time was, he would be unlikely to play a K super slow on that board. As with many tourney pros he didnt seem overly concerned with pot control with marginal made hands, and very concerened with "protecting his hand." |

Re: And Steve Thinks He\'s a Calling Station
If that's the case, I'd be more inclined to raise, than to call. I don't think you're beating much, but you might be able to fold out alot of hands.

Re: And Steve Thinks He\'s a Calling Station
nut no pair with obvious straight and flush draws on the flop? I've seen worse calls.
