Set on a Scary Board
15-30 home game... wide open. I think I messed up on every street, especially the river.
A normally good player limps utg+1 but he may be steaming a bit due to game conditions, so his range here is really wide. Loose drunk guy limps on the button... he could have anything. SB completes and I raise in the BB with jacks and they all call. Flop is AT6 rainbow. SB checked, I bet, both limpers called and the SB folded. Turn is a jack [AT6J]. I bet and they both called. River is a queen [AT6JQ]. I checked, the first limper checked and the drunk button bet. I called and the other guy called. |

Re: Set on a Scary Board
Fine. I don't like overcalling on this board very much, but given your description of the players and the fact that you're closing the action in a pot that is close to 10 BB, I think it's ok.
Let me guess - Drunk had a K (KT maybe?) and the limper had JTs or some other 2 pair? |

I like turn (table seems to passive to go for the check-raise). River is eh. I only check in this spot if I have a read that my opponent will fold a non-king hand but bet if checked to. Outside of that read, I prefer to bet/fold river. Q: What would you do if UTG+1 bets river and button calls? |

The drunk guy said "I missed" and mucked his hand. I lost to the other guy who called with A8o for the low end. I obviously would have won had I check-raised the drunk guy, but I wasn't feeling it at the time. [img]/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Re: Set on a Scary Board
Sorry... the flop was with a 9... not a 6
[qoute] Flop is AT9 rainbow. SB checked, I bet, both limpers called and the SB folded. Turn is a jack [AT9J]. I bet and they both called. River is a queen [AT9JQ]. I checked, the first limper checked and the drunk button bet. I called and the other guy called. [/ QUOTE ] |
