I think hyphenated names are stupid, but I really don't what name my wife uses. I think hyphenated names for kids are totally pointless because obviously you aren't going to want the next generation kids to have 4 names and so on.

I have often regretted that my mother's maiden name isn't part of my own name. Call it silly, but it feels like I'm missing something.
I wouldn't require that my wife take my name, I would consider that to be her choice. I would prefer that my children be hyphenated. |

Here is an interesting fact nobody knows (or cares) about:
The mayor of my great city (Los Angeles) Antonio Villaraigosa actually changed his name to include his wife's last name when he got married. His last name used to be Villa. |
