Default New sheets are scratchy

So I got some new sheets and I find them to be a little abrasive. I slept on them no problem, but they're not overly comfortable/soft. After a washing will they be a lot better, or just a little?

Just a little.

Important considerations:

Make sure 100% contton (or silk, not other stuff).

Make sure thread count is high.

Me too, but why don't you just wash them and find out? If OOT said they wouldn't be that much better after washing, would you try to take them back or just buy new sheets?

Putting the sheets on and off the bed is a bit of a production, and I'm quite lazy. They're styaing put for a little bit.

They are egyptian cotton, i do not know the thread count off hand.

If they are not suitable after washing i will probably just toss and use the 2 other sets i have.
