I assumed your intended research was in pursuit of ridicule, not enlightenment. Good luck in your quest. [/ QUOTE ] Alot of times I read arguments about the conplexity of the eye is evidence for god, or the complexity of the universe is evidence of god, or that Noah's arch was of perfect dimensions, or the earth and the sun distance are the same reation as the moon and the earth. They all see so sophomoric, where the only real evidence of the specific God everyone is argueing for must be contained within the context of the book describing him. Any of the turtles on a fence type stuff does nothing for a specific god and sometimes does nothing for any type of god. Instead, they are usualy rationalizations of a "just so" story. However, I started this thread in the hopes that I could see some convinces evidence. It seems that alot of evolutionist will spend all night and looking looking to satisfy the whims of any troll that belives in creationism, however xtains appear unable to give any serious evidence of the reason why they believe in creationism. |

I didnt fully understand your question but to clarify - I wouldnt give you my reasons for believing in God because they are purely subjective and imo dont provide any rational reason for you to believe. (Although it is rational for me to accept them).
I regard a philosophy forum as being an inappropriate place to discuss theology. The reason I would spend ages arguing about evolution but not about theology is that my belief in evolution is rational, my belief that God is the christian God is irrational. |

I didnt fully understand your question but to clarify [/ QUOTE ] Sorry my question is "What evidence of any particular god am I missing?" I posted some examples worried that I might be using incorect reasoning while looking for evidence of God. You and purnell, RJT I think, I imagine others, have shared your view that the reasons for your belief are irrational, yet reasonable for you to believe. I'm OK with that, not that what I'm OK with matters. |

Many Christians believe in the big bang, but not in traditional evolutionary theory
