Nationally televised games on ESPN are generally only blacked out when the game doesn't see enough tickets. Not sure if that is the case here or not though.

If we both bought mlb.tv, and exchanged logins, would we be able to dodge the blackout rules for our own hometown?

[/ QUOTE ]

Anyone know?

this would not work, it knows where your IP address is coming from.....when I log in to my MLB account in any part of the country, the local team of that location is the game that's blacked out......it's ridiculous, I live in New Orleans and the Texas-Boston game is blacked out on my digital cable MLB package because we are technically in the Rangers "home market"....Dallas!....and of course the game is not being broadcast on any local cable channel which makes tons of sense - so basically there's no way I can watch that game.....

I'd get the MLB season ticket to watch the Cardinals, but living in Vegas, I am supposedly part of the following markets:

LA
SD
Arizona
SF
OAK
SEA
Colorado.

WTF??? So why would I bother since I'd be blacked out for all of those games. The antiquaited MLB rules where any city can basically claim anything as "their territory" is absurd. At least I get to save the money. But these rules are absurd. Heck, any blackout is absurd, but at least make it something real such as 30 miles from the stadium. This is a joke. SAN FRANCISCO???

Clark-

If you don't mind watching them on the computer get MLBTV. I get it to watch the mariners and am only regularly blocked out from seating Anaheim and Oakland (there are ways around that too).
