Great! I flopped top set! But did I play this correctly?
Once a few short stacks went all in on the flop and UTG+1 raised for $6, I was pretty sure someone had flopped a straight/lower set/two pair. But even if someone has a straight, I have plenty of outs to improve to full house (7 outs on the flop, 11 on the turn?). Do you think the flop (and the turn) calls are justified? No reads, semi-loose table. Also, hand converter didn't work with this hand, so I had to edit it myself, so there might be some small errors. The 1st time it gets to you on the flop, bet nearer pot
The 2nd time it gets to you, PUSH |

this is the worst possible situation to slowplay: pot the first time, push when it gets around to you.

Wow, that's alot of damn action.
Geez, bet more on the flop, anyone who is open-ended is getting great odds on you $1 bet. They can even raise for value if enough people call. With that board and this many people in, I want to protect this hand and would probably over bet the pot. If those to your immediate left have a lone seven, they would have to fold. Now you've been c/r in two spots. However, the pot is large, you may have the best hand, you currently have over 30% chance of improving by the river, and BB is probably calling in this large pot. I would probably just push now, since you are calling the turn anyway. You're not good on the turn, but the pot is so large and the bet so small, you have to call. I don't think the call is the problem. Your bet on the flop is bad IMO. |

Thanks for the replies. My biggest concern on the flop was to get atleast one call; I had not seen much tricky play on the table, and figured they had weak hands.
But I guess I shouldn't take this into consideration when betting? I didn't push after the action because I knew I wasn't going to drive anyone out of the pot anymore, although I knew I would be calling all bets on the turn anyway, like you said, Hince. I'll push next time. |

Does a worse hand call on this flop, with the whole table seeing the flop, often enough for this to be profitable?
