Why is Daniel Negraneau always blinking?

When I was younger I looked up to someone named Josh. Anyways as a young impressionable boy I picked up on some of Josh's habits. One of which was blinking, along with other gestures (shoulder shrugs, other movements). Years later I still keep some of the old traits.

Some people naturally have dry eyes and have to blink more often to keep their eyes lubricated. This caused me a lot of problems when I first tried wearing contacts. Other factors such as bright lights or dry air (no humidity) can enhance the problem.
