Re: Poker Stars to Sell Up
[ QUOTE ]
This must be related to the e-mail I received earlier: "Dear Mike (if I may call you Mike), My name is Izzy Izetbegoviski, son and heir of a Poker Stars billionaire. You may have heard about our stroke of good luck in discovering the ongoing veracity of the phrase "there's one born every minute" and our subsequent decision to enrich ourselves at the expense of wannabe's and the desire of these aforementioned sadsacks to throw away their money in ever newer ways. We did this by facilitating the playing of games of chance on the internet and we quickly amassed a fortune of several billion dollars. Here's where you come in. We need a reliable partner to act as a conduit for funds from high tax regimes to low tax regimes. You have been highly recommended to us as an upright and respected member of the gambling fraternity and, last but not least, a man with his heart in the right place. Accordingly, we are pleased to confirm that we are able to guarantee you 36 (thirty six) million dollars for your help in this matter. Please forward us all relevant pin numbers and the telephone number of your prettiest female relative and before you can say "it's raining dollars" you'll be a man with a bank balance beyond belief. How easy is that? Exactly. Your good friend, Izzy." [/ QUOTE ] This sounds like a scam, I wouldn't do it if I were you. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Somehow I knew Pokerstars was run by Jews. [/ QUOTE ] Please ban this idiot. Thank you. [/ QUOTE ] I honestly can't tell if he meant this as a compliment to Jewish People or an insult. I mean, pokerstars IS hands down the best run Poker Site on the net. BTW, I'm Jewish. [/ QUOTE ] No it wasn't meant as an insult at all. It probably would've been more clear if I said "Jewish people". |

Re: Poker Stars to Sell Up
[ QUOTE ]
Was there any noticeable change when SportingBet bought Paradise? Doesn't look like. [/ QUOTE ] Huge difference. The software used to be faster and bug-free. Customer service equalled pokerstars. I miss the old Paradise. |

[ QUOTE ] Who is favourite to snap this up? I would think William Hill, Coral or Ladbrokes would be up there. Times Article here [/ QUOTE ] forgive me for injecting some rational thought into this, but doesnt this probably mean that they are just going to go public? peace john nickle [/ QUOTE ] possibly, but probably not. [ QUOTE ] Although a flotation for PokerStars, probably in the second half of this year, is a possibility, City analysts believe the huge growth in internet gambling is likely to make PokerStars attractive to both virtual and physical rivals. [/ QUOTE ] did you read the article? |

Re: Poker Stars to Sell Up
[ QUOTE ]
No it didn't. Please don't make idiotic exaggerations just to make a point. [/ QUOTE ] Pre Sportingbet you could get on waitlists, tables wouldn't disappear, and cards wouldn't disappear. It wasn't too long ago that the software was considered to be among the fastest, and customer service among the best. All the major bugs occurred once Sportingbet took over. The customer service is no longer considered to be excellent. Other sites, like Party, have worked to make their software faster; Paradise/Sportingbet has not. These changes are facts, and it would be an "idiotic exaggeration" to say that everything would be the same if the old management was still in control |
