Default Vegas vs. LA: Juicy Games??

I know this is a topic that's been discussed over and over, but I would like the most current insights from 2+2ers living on West Coast, since I haven't been out there often enough.

This is what I've read/heard about the juiciness of the games in LA and how LA scene compares to Vegas:

In LA, game selections are better (looser and softer games). However, in LA, rakes are higher, casinos are less safe, high cost of living, and you have to deal with lots of traffic to get to the casinos.

In your opinion, how true is the above comparison? Considering all pros and cons, which city do you think offers a higer EV for a cash game player who plays various games? I would like to eliminate 1/2 2/5 games from the equation because they are soft everywhere. And are there enough games in LA even during mid-week?

Thank you in advance for your insights.

15 million people in SoCal...I wonder if there are enough.

Vegas = 1.2 millionish in the valley (N.Lv, Henderson, LV) and some tourists.

And yet people wonder why there are more games in SoCal than Vegas.

Unless you've been to Commerce, you can't really know what LA poker is like.

I would say the games are clearly softer in Las Vegas with all the tourists. There are more regulars and solid players in the LA area.

I think the difference between LA and Vegas poker can be summarized as follows:

In Vegas the regulars take money from the tourists.
In LA the tourists take money from the regulars.
