Re: 20k: 99 approaching first bubble
I like a pot sized raise to about 2000. You will not be pot committed but will be able to get a good read on the table for future decisions. The fact that you are nearing the bubble supports aggressive action. It is interesting that there are no tall or short stacks at the table but everyone, in general has a M of about 10. Is the average stact 13K?

I think 2k pre-flop is probably about right. Unfortunately with no reads it will be dependent on action behind you.

Re: 20k: 99 approaching first bubble
if i make it 2k and get a caller, im in a pretty bad spot stack size-wise. a cbet leaves me crippled if i cant continue. which means i'll have to cintinue.... i dunno.
how is an open shove here? |

[/ QUOTE ] I definitely don't think you open shove here...that just looks weak and you will find a caller more than you want here IMO..I like a raise to 2k..and depending on the texture of the flop you just have to cbet to give yourself a chance to win the pot...however if the flop comes all overs w/ strt and flush draws out there I may give up.. |

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree, I think open shoving is fine. Blinds with antes should come to 1875 leaving you with an M of 7. That's not too big to shove IMO, and there aren't going to be many flops you are going to like alot of you just standard raise. |

Re: 20k: 99 approaching first bubble
2k bet is just not right i think
quick math: you start with 13k bb: 800, sb: 400, ante: 75 pot is roughly 1.9k you bet 2k so pot is 3.9k somone bets 13k (or moves in) giving you 1,6:1 odds on calling your remaining 11k.. how can u lay it down? so i move in or fold, rather moving in ... |

Re: 20k: 99 approaching first bubble
Antes in play, gives us relative ~ 10BB stack.. jam it.
