Re: AQ top two vs alot of agression (deep 200nl)

[ QUOTE ] I don't really like calling preflop. [/ QUOTE ] Are you 3-betting or folding? [/ QUOTE ] I 3-bet most often. I mean, I guess calling is fine if you have a plan and do not just give it up if you miss the flop, but I usually find my plans works best when I take control preflop. |

Re: AQ top two vs alot of agression (deep 200nl)
18% raise and this could easily be KJ.
It is either a monster or a pure bluff or 3-4 spade draws. I'd fold turn and pick a better spot to put my money in. I can even see a fold on the flop cr or I check through the flop. Why is he checking this flop? To get more value or to have you take a stab on a flop you cannot call most cbs. I think he have a monster and realised you probably fold the flop too often but when you bet he hoped you had something. Either he outplayed you with 77 or he got the nuts or close to it and either way your 2p is not worth anything since his nuts range is bigger than his bluff range. |

Re: AQ top two vs alot of agression (deep 200nl)
Great thoughts.
I was actually villain in this hand and I did indeed have KJo for the flopped nuts and villain called me down. Reason I posted was because I wasnt sure if it was a straight up cooler or if villain could of folded his 2p at any point, perhaps on the turn? note: I wouldnt actually get in this spot because in reality I would pretty much always 3b the AQ pre, but it's still an interesting gross spot for villain. |

Re: AQ top two vs alot of agression (deep 200nl)
Could you please elaborate?
We're deep and I want to get our stacks in, if villain has a hand to play here then he's more likely to call my CR than raise a flop lead so I can b3b (I don't think villain was particularly aggressive). |

Re: AQ top two vs alot of agression (deep 200nl)
There's at least 15 cards that can come on the turn if it gets checked through that either you're going to hate or is going to completely kill the action ... you said villain wasn't very aggressive, so the risk of it checking through is pretty high
I would just lead all streets ... good that it worked out for you tho |
