You don't think he can why no ATs/KTs type hands? I couldn't tell you how he plays a 3bet hand out of position or what he 3bet calling range consists of, but are these not hands that we have to consider given his stats?

[/ QUOTE ] No those hands are probably not in his range. You're looking for a reason to fold.

I would probably just go all in on the turn myself.

The guy has passive stats, but it's a small sample. Sometimes my agg factor is <1 at a table for a few orbits until things normalize, yada yada.

A 40% VPIP can indeed show up with a ten here. I think KT/QT are unlikely, but these guys love to play JTs, and might call with ATs as well. So, I would probably range this guy as JTs/ATs/77/99/JJ+. You have good equity against this range, so I guess I'd call this. Really too small of a sample to peg this guy as a nut peddler.

Board: Ts Th 7s 9c
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 57.210% 55.49% 01.72% 708 22.00 { JJ+, 99, 77, ATs, JTs }
Hand 1: 42.790% 41.07% 01.72% 524 22.00 { KcKh }

Edit: Naturally spades and air can be in this range, but I was going for a conservative view which still dictated a call, etc.

What am I looking to beat if raised? Just fold? Seems like I am pot committed at which point if I bet the turn and get raised. Sounds crappy to get pot committed with the worst hand.

Insta fold. BB has .8 aggro and immediately bets 70 into 95 pot on turn check by hero. How many passive people all of sudden become aggro with hands that KK is beating here? Passive .8 aggro villains do not make big bluffs unless tilt/other factors involved.

cheers

[/ QUOTE ] No you're not folding here. You bet because the passive player won't bet his own QQ/JJ yet will still call them. I'm assuming by your manerism throughout this thread that he had some sort of Tx hand. Note the guy and move on. Cooler, you're not getting away here. And it's only a buy-in, don't go losing sleep over it.

Don't know what he had. I folded. Thats what I am losing sleep over. =D

This is good discussion too. Really out of my small sample size since I have been playing (12K hands) this is the first time I have really been in this situation with a player like this and I just didn't know how to respond.

Fish put up some good numbers for me to see and I had wish I called that hand now. I think next time a situation comes up with a player like this I will probably instacall him next time.

I was going to say to bet the turn, but then when I looked at the stacks I saw taht you couldnt get away from the hand after that...

[/ QUOTE ]

This raises a very interesting point, if we are not going to be able to get away from this hand if we bet the turn, does it then make more sense to overbet the pot on the flop?

Bet flop, C/F turn just seems like such a weak line here.

If we plan on checking the turn, whats the plan for the river?
