Great thank you for clarifying that. I thought that I counted all the unobserved decks.

I think I see why.

Is it because the count is used to determine what is so far unobserved e.g. a lot of 10s are still in and it is impossible to determine if those tens are before or after the cut.

Therefore we divide by the total amount of unobserved decks to get the true count for the total amount of unobserved decks as it would be impossible to get the true count for the decks just in front of the cut.
