Simple Counting Question

Greetings,

I am relatively new to counting at Blackjack.

All I would like to know is when calculating the true count do you divide by the amount of decks remaining up the cut or do you also include the decks behind the cut.

For example the count is +12.

There are 4 decks left in total but 3 decks left before we get to the cut and reshuffle. Would the true count be +4 or +3.

Any information or support greatly appreciated.

+3. You will always count the number of UNOBSERVED DECKS. DUCY?

Re: Simple Counting Question

Great thank you for clarifying that. I thought that I counted all the unobserved decks.

I think I see why.

Is it because the count is used to determine what is so far unobserved e.g. a lot of 10s are still in and it is impossible to determine if those tens are before or after the cut.

Therefore we divide by the total amount of unobserved decks to get the true count for the total amount of unobserved decks as it would be impossible to get the true count for the decks just in front of the cut.
