Re: Special balls they use for Arod and Bonds
[ QUOTE ]
the ball a-rod hit last night for #499 may end up being #500 if he hits one today vs. the orioles to end the suspended game from june [/ QUOTE ] Imagine catching that ball and giving it to some little kid because you thought it was HR #499 and not 500. Talk about a bad beat. |

Re: Special balls they use for Arod and Bonds

...hell yeah i'd sell that thing. [/ QUOTE ] Why would anyone NOT sell it? It'd instantly be worth a million dollars or more, and it will never be worth as much as the day you catch it. With every home run A-Rod hits, the ball depreciates in value. In less than 10 years (probably WAY sooner) he won't even hold the record anymore. And what is the sentimental value in keeping it? Most people hate Bonds? |

Re: Special balls they use for Arod and Bonds
[ QUOTE ]
As most of you know MLB is using specially marked baseballs when Bonds and Arod bat as they approach their respective milestones. However whats to stop someone who catches a foul ball during one of their at bats to turn around and sell it as a homerun ball? [/ QUOTE ] Uh, because the foul ball you catch will have the wrong serial number from the homerun ball. Was this a trick question??? |

[/ QUOTE ] yes way, it will [/ QUOTE ] That really makes no sense. Whether or not the game started before yesterday's home run ball, a home run hit tonight will come after yesterday's bomb, so logically a home run in the resumed game would be #500. Then again, I don't claim to be an expert on MLB rules. |
