Re: AA flush draw; flop+turn play
Because he can easily check fold when you hit your flush, the board pairs the third card, or the ace comes off. If you're going to just call you may as well fold. You also gain a lot of meta value by raising AA here for when you raise with something like 99TJ and hit the same kind of flop.

Re: AA flush draw; flop+turn play
Right, but that's assuming a long term strategy where being an aggressive player and having that image will be fine. On the most part shoving AA here with a nut flush draw isn't unusual, so I wont imagine too many people will add a note saying "OMG shoved AA on this flop" because they should spot the nut flush draw as well.
Out of position I do what you recommend, in position I call because my opponent will make the mistake. Plus if your opponent is folding everytime a flush hits, then that's all the more reason to call. Bluff calling is just as important in Omaha as it allows the times you hit a real flush to get paid off more. |

Re: AA flush draw; flop+turn play
[ QUOTE ]
my reason for not raising the flop was that it was very draw heavy to the straight and i felt my just calling i could possibly entice the 3rd player to call as well and improve my odds? hu i obv push the flop variance reduction is meaningless to me, but does this first idea have any merit? [/ QUOTE ] If you will not see the showdown "improving your pot odds" is not a good idea. |

Re: AA flush draw; flop+turn play
No, but decent players will certainly take note of your play and will be able to weight the hands you smoothcall the flop with accordingly in the future. Calling doesn't allow your opponent to make a mistake unless you plan on shoving virtually every turn, in which case you are simply opening yourself up to more variance than pushing the flop.
And LOLOL if your opponent is folding everytime a flush hits and the main strength of your hand to continue past the flop is a flush draw, yeah I guess 'bluff calling' is a great idea. Once again LOL. |
