Ok, to respond to the first quote, it is possilbe to make a positive contribution as a poker player. Look at Barry Greenstein, giving his tournament winnings to charity... I'd call that benefiting society.

It all depends on the person. We each can choose to make a difference, or choose not to make a difference. It's individual choice. Where we happen to be employed really doesn't matter. It's what you choose to do with your available resources that reflect on your contribution. Some people like Barry give to Charity. Others donate their time to help others.

The point is that you shouldn't consider yourself limited by your profession. Think outside the box.

You CAN make a difference... if you really want to.
