How can a bet amount be such that it allows a 3b here?

Sucks to be you giving a free card if he's spade drawing. He's probably either really thin or way ahead with an obvious heavy weight toward the former. I give the option of a freebie cause if he takes it he's probably trying to play pot control and may call a river bet but would fold to your turn bet. He bets, I get it in and count on picking up the pot a large portion of the time.

He was the cause of an $8K swing for me a few weeks ago. (mmm transfered responsibility...) So I vote for whatever stacks him. (I think I bet/get it in more often than not here)

i think this is an interesting hand, anyone got any further views on this.

decisions like this completely shape how people view your postflop style.

with stacks this deep i go for pot control. i check the turn with the intention of calling his bet. i check again on the river and evaluate his bet size on the river and expect to fold to his river bet, but i hope he checks.

this shows the overwhelming power of position imo.

i just voted, lol, once again i am in the massive minority.

i think any decent player should would use his position on the turn here to represent a flopped set, having read you for an overpair given you've bet out again on the turn.

i remember one of my regular opponents saying to me he thought i was pretty [censored], but my usage of floating was very good. i think MP here could call with any two cards given the number of scare cards which would come on turn, given he can rep the flopped set, given the stacks are normal, pretty deep relatively given only $24 in pf.

hopefully you do this with any two cards, show your float and good play and then ch-ching to getting paid off and confusing your opponents.
