No it wont, because office space is a really good movie. Idiocracy is mediocre at best.

Most all people I know who've watched it have said it is total and utter garbage, that its a really great idea but it just sucked the way it was executed.

I agree in part. It is a really brilliant idea, but I really dont think you can take the concept and turn it into a great movie, it doesnt lend itself to that kind of story telling. So I think it was really the best it could have been given the circumstances, and I think its not as bad as most people say, it just doesnt even come close to office space so it gets really ripped on for being a letdown.

Finally saw it a few days ago. I thought it was okay, but for the most part agree with the "Good idea, flawed execution" sentiment. At times, especially in the beginning, it sounded like they were working with a rough draft of a script rather than a finished product. The biggest problem was that there just wasn't nearly the sharp wit it needed to really succeed. Satire does well with sarcasm, irony, etc. Not so much with slapstick.

First 10 minutes, hilarious. Rest of the movie, meh. There really was nowhere for this movie to go. Ok, people are stupid and gross in the future. Repeat for 80 minutes, blah.

It had its moments. I enjoyed the scene where the average intelligence man (Luke Wilson's character) attempts to explain to a retarded person how time-travel works.

I rented this movie purely because the premise sounded interesting. I was expecting it to be stupid, hopefully stupid funny. Watched it with my wife...apologized afterwards. Awful movie. Laughed a few times but mostly just sat in awe that a movie that bad actually gets released to the public.

I told two of my coworkers that this movie was terrible. \
One watched it and proclaimed it to be great(close to Big Lebowski levels, he said). The other then watched and came to the same conclusion, that the movie was hilarious.

I thought I was going insane. Good thread to make me realize that my coworkers are effin morons and I am still normal.
