Default $25NL Jacks facing ugly Flop

No significant reads on villain.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($19.75)
SB ($13.60)
Hero ($25.45)
UTG ($5.75)
UTG+1 ($4.70)
MP1 ($14.65)
MP2 ($24.45)
CO ($4.65)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">5 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Button raises to $1</font>, SB calls $0.90, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $4</font>, Button folds, SB calls $3.

Flop: ($9) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero?</font>

<font color="blue">I'm totally lost in situations like these. Villain has just a wee more than a PSB left. I can't bet without committing myself to the pot. I figure the only two options i have are:
1.: Shove
2.: Give up

And I don't like either.

I need a general advice here for situations where, being the PFA, I face small to medium Stacks, miss the board completely and a standard C-bet would commit myself to the pot. How am I gonna play these Situations in general??</font>

Thanks for comments and/or discussions.
