Default 2/5 Borgata, 3 wrong decisions?

2/5 playing loose, effective stacks $750, Hero is UTG+1, Villain CO.

Hero sat short, $300, drinking a beer and professedly "killing time." Villain has $8K, an older gentleman, not drinking.

Hero dealt A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG folds, Hero raises to $15, MP1 call, Villain jacks it to $45, Hero thinks for 30s, calls. MP1 folds.

Flop: K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Hero checks, Villain checks behind.

Turn: K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero checks, Villain shoves (!), hero debates.....

Thoughts? I'll post the rest of the hand after discussion.

Thanks

Preflop - Hero should think for about 5 seconds and push a pot-committing amount of about $150-$200.

As played preflop, you got to push that flop becuz it sucks if a J,Q,K comes off on the turn.

err, then it happens and you have a big problemmo

Postflop - is Hero checking the flop with the intention of c/r here, or giving a free card and the opportunity for Villain to bluff at it? Although, Hero is strongly leaning towards putting Villain on AK.

KT9 is a draw heavy flop - I would not check it.

My other question for your line is - do I want to force a fold preflop with a pot-committing bet like you suggest, or do I expect him to come over the top? Villain has not done anything out of line yet, so I suppose a bet such as you suggest will push him off his hand, and I'd like to double through him....his stack size suggests that Villain is ready for action.

I don't mind a flop c/r. Now fold. If he does it with less than Kx then friggin good for him, stack him later.

4 bet preflop, or, attempt a limp raise if this is a full table. Or, open raise to more than 3xBB. Do one of these, and the hand becomes easier on future streets. As played, you can probably fold, as this is Kx or better a lot of the time.
