Oh I'm such a dumbo, just didn't see the straight draw. This means he only has to have 60% of the time a set to make this not profitable. In general I keep in mind that a FD against a set is 28% equity, a FD+gutshot is 35% against a set (the same appr. as FD v.s. two pair.), a FD+gutshot is 40% against two pair.

I'm still trying to figure out the optimal way to play these types of draws myself, so I don't have the answer... that said, I'll comment anyway

I remember reading a post from fimbulwinter about playing draws very aggressively when you're heads up, but passively in multiway pots. You have more fold equity against 1 player obviously (although given the action on this hand I don't think you have much fold equity against MP2). Multiway, you're getting better odds to draw... so, if you're 35% to make the winning hand and there are 4 players in the pot, you're only putting in 25% of the money. In this case, it worked out anyway since you were about 40% to win and still only put in around 25% of the money (see twodimes.net results below)... but you couldn't know that the other two players both would call with top 2 and were blocking each other.

The other thing I'd be concerned about playing this multiway for my stack is that you could be stuck in the pot against a made hand and another player with a better draw than you (i.e. Ahxh). Of course, playing it aggro may get the better draw out... I don't know, just some thoughts I had on the hand.

Ok - thanks for everyones comments.

I think I am going to have to sit down for an hour or 2 and really look at some odds.
