I know many UNDER 25's like to talk about how they 8-table. I guess it's "cool" maybe it makes them feel like a better play. I have no idea how you can play 8 tables unless you just fold everything >JJ. Especially the guys that 8 table 6 max games.
4 tables I can pull off at full ring NL...if any 8-table ADULTS do this, do you adjust your game? Do you just play super-tight straight forward poker? |

[/ QUOTE ] Not sure what you're trying to imply here, that people play 8 or more tables because they are arrogant and cocky and young? Thats wrong. People play 8 or more tables because they can earn more bb/hour playing that many tables. Its as simple as that. I'm not under 25 (I'm literally 25), and have 8 and 9-tabled 10 person pl omaha without terrible difficulty. It is an acquired skill to multitable, but you certainly don't have to play some sort of supertight only JJ and up strategy, you can play normally. |

This is one of the best posts ive seen in a while.
first you rip on 8 tablers, then you ask them for advice on how to 8 table yourself. this is too much |

ok serious question, are you guys using multitable helper or other software to help you out or are you simply able to play without software? Im using MTH and started playing 10 tables with little to no change in my game.

Playing 8 tables is cool ! Especially when my friends watch me !! [/ QUOTE ] Okay...I stopped here and didn't read the rest of the thread becaus I can kind of assume where it's going. I play up to 8 tables and don't have any of my friends watch me..nor do I care to. I'm 35. I usually play 4-6 tables though because my concentration is better. But I was 10-tabling during some lengthy stretches in my recent marathon of hands to win the party-cruise package. 10-tabling was a big PITA though. I know a person on these forums who is 38 and has 4 kids who plays up to 8 tables of either limit or $55 SNG's or higher. I don't think he has anyone watch him play for the coolness factor either (except for his kids running in and bugging him while he's working). Some people just like to earn money faster. Brilliant!! |

[/ QUOTE ] I completely missed the gaming thing not even Atari. My pastimes during my teen years were all about excessive consumption of any drug/drink etc--I was a seventies kid too young for for Vietnam too old for the gaming thing-I never got into it-just seemed too geeky. The seventies had that left over drug vibe from the late sixties-It was bonghits, 4-wheelin my '69 Bronco and more bong hits. Damn I didnt get my first pc until 1995 at 33 when I was living in Atlantic City-my first year at attempting to play B&M poker for a living. If I had played video games I would have been pretty darn good at them thu. I put more of my mental focus into music and playing cards and backgammon.. All good poker players have very solid skills at looking at visual patterns holistically no matter what age they are. I paid for all my excesses in spades. Seems like this generation of 20 year olds are annoying well-balanced in general-I guess thats good and healthy just seems kinda boring for youngsters to be so happy |
