5NL - 44 in BB. Check or Raise it up preflop?
15th hand at table. I have played against all of these villains before in some capacity whether at 2NL or 5NL. They are all pretty bad.
MP is 40/1/0.7 (200 hands) CO is 45/4/3.4 (100 hands) Button is 40/10/1.8 (100 hands) SB is 20/3/3 (800 hands) What are we doing here? Are we always raising all pocket pairs in a limped pot no matter if we're out of position? I don't like playing small PPs OOP but are we always raising against opponents who are this bad? Let me know your thoughts PF and on all streets thereafter. And by the way, just moved up from $2NL to $5NL. So I really appreciate all the help everyone has given me in this forum. raiseraiseraiseraiseraiseraise all day immediately you shouldnt have to think about raising any pp from any position [/ QUOTE ] look at these guys stats though, 3 of them are 40 VPIP. They're gonna call your raise all day long. Then you're OOP with a ton of overs on the flop and 3 people in the hand. I think it's burning money to say always raise. At least when you're playing with these players. |

Just to clarify I'm saying against THESE players you're better checking 44 from the BB pf. These guys play half their hands! |

Re: 5NL - 44 in BB. Check or Raise it up preflop?
you take control of the hand
youll usually take it down with a c-bet you most likely have the best hand preflop making the pot bigger for when you hit your set im always raising here |

Raising a small pair OOP against two 40 vpip stations seems like a leak to me.
