Stud Hi, - was it right to fold aces here?
I figured I was up against a sf draw here or else trips was I right to fold or should I have called it down. Seat 5 is fairly tight/agressive ususally and I dont think he'd have bet like this if he couldn't beat aces.
7 Card Stud High ($2/$4), Ante $0.25, Bring-In $1 (converter) 3rd Street - (0.88 SB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___raises Seat 2: xx xx 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___brings-in___folds Seat 3: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls___calls Seat 5: xx xx 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___calls___calls Seat 6: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___folds Seat 7: xx xx 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds Seat 8: xx xx 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___folds 4th Street - (4.38 SB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___bets___double-raises___calls Seat 3: xx xx Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___calls___folds Seat 5: xx xx 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]___double-raises___double-raises 5th Street - (6.69 BB) Hero: A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]___checks___folds Seat 5: xx xx 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]___bets Total pot: (6.69 BB) |

$2 - I bet $2 then he raised to $4 - I re-raised $6 at which point seat 3 folded, and he re-raised again to $8.

If there's an open pair in high-only stud, you have the option to be the minimum or the maximum. By "double-bet" they mean the maximum. There is no open pair, however, so I'm guessing that there is a glitch in the converter.

Since OP says he bet single and the other guy raised double, maybe it's a glitch in the site's software.

Re: Stud Hi, - was it right to fold aces here?
Villain is obv. drawing pretty strong, but it doesnt necessarily mean the K made his hand. I think if a heart falls you can fold, but giving someone credit for a straight flush draw may be a bit presumptuous just because he threw in an extra 2 bucks on 4th. I think I call given the pot size and probably fold if he hits a heart and I haven't improved.

Re: Stud Hi, - was it right to fold aces here?
I think my first thought was trip 10s - then thought maybe hes on a draw. So I decided to call the final raise on 4th and see what 5th would bring. When he showed no let up even though there was no suited card - I decided to quit. I figure he was either drawing very strong or already ahead.

Re: Stud Hi, - was it right to fold aces here?
There are a lot of dead hearts, so if he has a clue I think a big draw is unlikely. Looks a lot like trips, though. You're getting 3:1 or so to show down, so it's close even so. If this is somebody you play against a lot I'd call it down.
